The Ecole d'Avignon is a heritage rehabilitation training centre. Its area of intervention is the built heritage – architecture, trades, materials – its conservation and its rehabilitation. It has positioned itself as a resource centre specialised in:

  • Educational advice
  • Training for rehabilitation professionals: short term proficiency courses or thematic courses on site in Avignon or elsewhere in France and Europe
  • Studies and publications such as: Techniques et pratique de la chaux or Traditional Mediterranean architecture
  • Consulting services for local authorities and other representatives working on the architectural heritage: advice concerning project design and execution
  • Management of European projects and the building of networks

The Ecole d'Avignon is developing international activities with UNESCO, ICOMOS and the Council of Europe. It has also participated in a number of European programmes:

  • those concerning culture: Raphael, Culture 2000 / Art nouveau network,
  • those about territory: Interreg II C / Restauro network of regions and towns and Interreg III B “Western Mediterranean” / VillageTerraneo network
